Education and Community Outreach: The Crispus Attucks Cultural Center is an active member in the City of Norfolk and Hampton Roads. CACC will provide accessible, interactive educational opportunities by promoting the history that surrounds the Attucks Theatre at community events and in the local elementary schools, the story of Crispus Attucks and many others give members of the community role models to embody. The Crispus Attucks Cultural Center (CACC) provides year round educational and multicultural programming emphasizing the richness of the African American and African Diaspora experience. CACC uses dance, film, music, photography, theatre, multimedia, literary and visual arts as a vehicle for developing self-esteem, self-discipline, and creative expression. Our populations served include the greater metropolitan areas of Southeastern Virginia and surrounding suburbs, a diverse community of people, culturally, socially and economically. The CACC provides 2,500 individual participating low income youth, ages 5-17 annually, with a progressive curriculum that serves their unmet educational needs and interests. Core programs include RISE! (Rhythm In Setting Expectations), and Mid Atlantic Black Film Festival.
